Multilingual Conferences

We know from experience that organising a multilingual conference requires extensive coordination.

AIB can advise you on hiring booths and sound equipment. If you wish, we can obtain estimates and arrange a direct hire contract . Before the start of a meeting we always check that this equipment is working properly.

The size of the team depends on the number of languages spoken in the meeting room, on the number to which interpretation is provided, and on the duration of the meeting. AIB will put the teams of interpreters together in application of AIIC working conditions, which were developed in order to ensure the best quality interpretation.

AIB interpreters generally work from a number of "passive" languages into their mother tongue (their "A" language) and thus avoid the use of "relay," in which indirect interpretation is based on the version provided by another interpreter rather than on the original speaker (when the speaker's language is not understood in the target language booth). The use of direct interpretation, avoiding "relay," makes for a more faithful, more immediate service.

Please bear in mind that preparing for a conference far enough in advance will help ensure success.

Please phone us for an estimate, or complete our form.
