There are obviously some affinities between written translation and conference interpretation (which comprises simultaneous interpretation or "simultaneous translation", as it is sometimes called, consecutive and whispered interpretation). However, the qualities, skills and methods involved are quite different. Sometimes, a conference interpreter may also work as a translator, but this is not usually the case.

AIB has decided to focus on its core business and provide only conference interpretation services. However, some of our members are also translators, so it may be possible for AIB to handle written translation together with conference interpretation if obvious synergies apply (e.g., translating conference papers or translating/transcribing recorded speeches).
