How we work

Need interpreters? With a few simple details we can give you advice and a tailor-made quotation, free of charge.

Finding the right interpreters
Freelance conference interpreters are self-employed professionals, like most lawyers, dentists, architects or tax consultants. Each interpreter has a different language combination, cultural background and professional experience. Finding the right interpreter for every job, understanding the nuances of their language combinations, and negotiating the details with each of them is a complex, painstaking task.
Contact AIB and one of our consultant interpreters will be assigned to you
AIB will save you a lot of trouble. Just call us or fill in our online form with key information on your conference or event. One of our consultant interpreters will work with you and handle everything to do with the interpretation service.
Send us the following information:
This is the information we need in order to organise a team of interpreters and send you an estimate:
  • Specific dates on which interpretation will be required (may be more or fewer than the duration of the conference as such).
  • Which languages will be spoken in the meeting rooms, and into which languages interpretation will be required. They need not be the same: for example, you might allow English, French and Spanish to be spoken by participants, but require interpretation into Spanish and English only.
  • Conference subject (some interpreters are especially proficient in certain highly technical fields) and title.
  • Conference venue.
  • A draft or final programme, if possible, to give us an idea of how the work is distributed and identify days on which interpretation may not be needed (e.g. field trips or tours).
  • Conference format (individual presentations, panel discussion, open-floor debate, etc.), particularly if you need a quote for booths and sound equipment.
  • Number of parallel sessions with interpretation (several teams of interpreters may be required).
We send you an estimate
On the basis of the information you have provided, we will draw up an estimate of the cost and propose a team of interpreters to meet your needs.
We draw up the contracts...
To safeguard our mutual arrangements for your meeting, AIB will draw up a master contract and the interpreters´ individual contracts. We use standard contracts approved by AIIC.
